If you never rented directly from an owner, we make it EASY!
Here's how it works:
- Choose your week and use our online booking calendar to make your
reservation. Our online reservation calendar is always 100% up-to-date. We collect your
contact information, phone, how many adults and children and how many car
passes (you need a pass for each car maximum of 2 passes). You have to
agree to our online rental agreement. This is where we make sure you
understand that pets are not allowed, our condo is no-smoking and deposits
are not refundable.
- When selecting your week, you can choose to pay by check or Paypal. We
prefer a personal check drawn on a U.S. bank since there are no extra Paypal
fees. If you want to pay by credit card or e-check, Paypal is safer for you
since we never see your credit card information. There is a small additional
charge to cover the Paypal processing fees. International guests must use
Paypal and pay by credit card. Paypal handles the currency conversion for us.
If you are arriving within 30 days, we require immediate full payment by Paypal
so we can get all the required paperwork to you in time for your arrival.
- Once we receive your deposit, we will send you our island welcome package.
This is a huge Flat Rate Priority Mail envelope with condo and resort
information, maps, tourist guides, restaurant guides and everything else
we can find that might be useful for you to plan your vacation! Watch your
front door because many times it is too big to fit in your mailbox. I usually
mail these out within two weeks of receiving your deposit.
- Then, 30 days prior to arrival, the balance of your rental is due. Once
we receive your full rental payment, we will send you the security gate
passes that you need to get past the front gate AND the lockbox code for
the lockbox on our condo's front door.
- When you arrive (after 4pm on your checkin date) give the security gate
pass to the guard at the gate. He will give you a dashboard pass to leave
in your car. This will allow you to go through the security gate 24hrs a day.
Be careful! Do not park in fire zones or exceed the unloading zone time limits.
Security WILL fine you and YOU are responsible for paying the fines.
- There is no checkin process. Proceed directly from the security gate
to our condo in building two (the yellow building). You can find it on the
condo map in your Island Welcome package. We are only one floor up, however
you will find elevators at the intersection of all of the buildings. Building
two has an elevator on the left side between building one/two and on the
right side between building two/three.
- When you get to the condo you will find a lockbox above the deadbolt.
Enter the lockbox code on the dial and press the button to open the lockbox.
Inside you will find a key to open the front door. Please return the lockbox
key and leave it in the lockbox at all times. Be sure to spin the dial to
protect the combination code. This way if you accidentally lock yourself
out during the week, you can call us and we will give you the code to get
in again. Security has our phone numbers.
- Inside, on the kitchen counter, you will find two keys to use while you
are here. We provide a starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags and
napkins. Usually there are enough for a typical week. There are usually spices,
salt, pepper, ketchup and other condiments in the kitchen. We try to have coffee,
tea, sugar and other useful items that you might need on hand. There should
be plenty of coffee filters. Be sure to check expiration dates on any food
items. It's all there for you to use and to make your vacation feel more like
home, but of course eat at your own risk. There will be liquid hand soap at
each sink, but you will want to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, etc.
Don't forget your sunscreen!
- There is a local phone line with free calls for the Hilton Head, Bluffton,
Hardeeville, Beaufort and Savannah area. If you dial Savannah, leave off the 1-
Building three has free wi-fi access in the atrium. There is an internet cafe
in building one at the deli.
- When you are ready to checkout (by 11am), please load and run the dishwasher,
take the trash to the dumpster between building two/three, leave the keys
on the kitchen counter, lock the front door securely and have a SAFE trip
home.
That's all there is to it!
We've been doing this procedure for years. It seems to work flawlessly.
Some helpful hints:
The resort has 24 hour gated security. You can arrive as late as you like on
your checkin day without worrying about late arrivals or finding a rental
office. You will already have everything you need to enter the villa.
If you are arriving before 4pm, you can contact me the day before to see
if there is anyone ahead of you. If the previous week was unrented, you
are welcome to arrive early. Otherwise, if you arrive early, you are welcome
to park your car and go hit the beach, pools or the resort's restaurants
while you wait for the condo to be cleaned. There are restrooms in the
middle of buildings one and three. Might come in handy after a long car trip
with the kids!
If you have any problems while you are here, water leaks, something
breaks or even if the kitchen is missing some specific cooking item that you
need, please call us so we can take care of it. If you have any issues with
noise, loud music or if anything makes you feel unsafe, please call security and
they will take care of it for you. If you come in late and would like security
to escort you to the condo, they will be happy to do so. You will find them
to be very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with island information.
Be sure to check the beach shuttle schedule at the front gate. Security operates
a golf cart shuttle from the entrance of the boardwalk to the cabana, usually
every hour. They can take you and your beach "stuff" directly to the beach in
just a couple of minutes. The boardwalk is very nice and lighted in case you want
to take an evening stroll on the beach.
If needed, we can help arrange larger accommodations. If you have family or
friends that want to join you, we can help them rent a condo in our resort
near ours. If you want to have a family reunion, we can probably find
as many beds as you could possibly need. There are 456 condos and we are
friends with over a hundred owners that also rent their condos. If our condo
isn't available for the week you want, please email me and I will help you
find a similar unit that fits your budget.
If you have any questions about this procedure, the condo, the resort
or the island please don't hesitate to ask. If there is anything we can
do to make your stay more enjoyable, just let us know. We want you to
have a great time so you will come back year after year!
